Keri Blair

GRADUATE-LEVEL COUNSELING Practicum

“Is there any hope after failure? Can my life, marriage, or relationships be restored after all I’ve done?”

These are the questions Keri often hears—and has once asked herself. If you’ve ever wondered why we make the choices we do, or if you’ve felt like your past mistakes are too big to come back from, you’re not alone—and there is hope. Keri’s journey into counseling is deeply personal. From a young age, she experienced complex trauma that was never fully understood or processed. At 10 years old, she endured harm that shaped the way she saw herself and the world. That pain only deepened with the loss of her mother during her teenage years. Without a healthy sense of self, Keri tried to cope through performance, people-pleasing, and anger—responses rooted in loneliness and unresolved grief.

As a young adult, the unhealed trauma and grief grew heavier, especially through the heartbreak of infertility and miscarriage. Sometimes, life’s circumstances are beyond our control, while at other times, we unintentionally create patterns that harm ourselves and those we love. Regardless of the cause, Keri believes that everyone deserves the opportunity to heal, grow, and find balance when life feels overwhelming. At times, becoming self-aware also brings with it the discovery of what has been lost or even grief over what was never there.

Keri believes that purpose is not found in titles or achievements but in cultivating an intentional mindset of self-growth, authenticity, and self-acceptance. It wasn’t until later in life she surrendered her own efforts to fix her life and instead leaned into God and a path of intentional healing that restoration began.

Today, Keri brings not just clinical insight, but also deep empathy to her work with clients. She knows what it’s like to feel broken, to wrestle with shame, and to wonder if things will ever get better. Through compassionate counseling, she walks with others as they grow in self-awareness, process their pain, and move toward healing and wholeness.

Her approach is faith-informed, trauma-sensitive, and rooted in the belief that no one is ever too far gone for grace, healing, or repair. Keri integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and reframe distorted thought patterns that often stem from unresolved pain and early attachment wounds. By combining evidence-based techniques with attachment theory, she helps individuals explore how their early relational experiences may be influencing current behaviors, emotional responses, and relationship dynamics. This blend allows clients to not only gain practical tools for change but also begin the deeper work of healing from within—where trust, connection, and a renewed sense of self can be rebuilt.

Outside of her work, Keri has been married for 15 years and loves spending time with her husband and daughter. She is originally from Louisville, Kentucky but has called Memphis her home for over 25 years. She finds joy in music, interior design, and the simple pleasures of life, like curling up with a good book and a cup of coffee. These moments remind her to embrace gratitude and mindfulness, values she also encourages in her clients.
